Amazon-owned Bee launches two personal AI devices, starting at $74.99
Amazon-owned Bee introduced two new personal AI gadgets designed to capture and summarize everyday conversations: the wrist-or-pin wearable Bee Frontier, available now for $74.99, and the credit-card-sized Bee Eclipse, coming soon starting at $99.99. The devices convert spoken moments into summaries, to-dos, calendar invites and other insights, and are positioned to integrate with Amazon services and popular productivity apps.
What happened
Bee said the Frontier can be worn on the wrist or pinned to clothing, while the Eclipse is a slim, magnetic card that attaches to smartphones. The Frontier is offered in Onyx, Lavender and Sage and is available on Amazon.com. The Eclipse will be available soon in Silver, Midnight, Honey and Blush.
How the devices work
According to Bee, the devices create conversation summaries and recaps, and can extract actionable details that become suggested to-dos, calendar invites, summaries and insights. All Bee hardware includes a free tier that provides conversation summaries and 14 days of memory.
Bee described a privacy architecture in which audio is processed in real time and not stored, with raw audio deleted after processing. Transcripts are encrypted using keys that the device creates and controls, and Bee says transcripts are accessible only to the user unless the user chooses to share them.
Hardware details published for the Bee Frontier include IP67 water resistance, up to seven days of battery life, USB-C charging, dual microphones with advanced noise filtering, a single button and an indicator light that shows when the device is summarizing.
Subscriptions and integrations
Bee Pro, the companys paid tier, is priced at $11.99 per month. Bee Pro adds unlimited recent conversation summaries, integrations with Amazon.com and Alexa+, support for third-party productivity applications, suggested to-dos, daily memories, a personal chat assistant, conversation templates and a desktop application. Bee said new customers receive 30 days of Bee Pro for free.
Bee also listed integrations with Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook, and said the product can connect with Apple HealthKit and accept user-uploaded photos. Alexa integration is optional; Bee noted an option to connect using Alexa Voice ID so Echo devices can recognize a speaker and record conversations for Bee insights, with transcripts and summaries deletable by the user.
Webzenith News analysis
At $74.99, the Bee Frontier targets a lower price point for wearable conversation-capture devices while the Eclipse offers a pocketable form factor for smartphone users. Bees positioning emphasizes on-device control of transcripts and real-time audio processing, and the Bee Pro subscription packages cloud integrations and unlimited summaries behind a monthly fee. For buyers weighing convenience against subscription costs and integration needs, the combination of a free tier and a paid plan makes the product lineup straightforward to evaluate.
